Flower Tongue Barbell-14g is gorgeously sparkling in your tongue  piercing. The fixed, flat disc has a smooth surface so it will not rub inside against your mouth. Only the bottom ball undoes. The upper disc is less bulky on the tongue because it is flatter than a ball.  It is super sparkly. The surface looks like it is rough but is in fact very smooth. The bar is made of surgical steel, so it is perfect for tongue body piercings. Having a fixed upper disc means there is less chance of a ball undoing and being swallowed.

Surgical steel

Flower Tongue Barbell-14g is made from surgical steel “SS316L.” This means they are implant-grade surgical stainless steel – it is probably the most common and most widely used metal for body piercings. Surgical Steels (316L) are used for bone fixation screws, body pins, bone plates, staples, amongst many other applications. We do not play or gamble with your health.

If you’re wearing surgical steel “SS316L.”   jewellery and are having problems with irritation or a new piercing that just won’t heal, it is possible that you have a intolerance of surgical steel and might want to try titanium. Please note that this is generally quite rare to be allergic to this metal.

What is acrylic?

The ball is made of acrylic in this nipple bar. Acrylic comes in many shapes and colours. It gives cool aspects of colour and a combination of glitter. It cannot be sterilized in an autoclave as it may crack. It is also best not to soak in disinfectant chemicals like alcohol or similar. It’s not suitable for initial piercing. The biggest advantage is it’s cheap price.
