What is an industrial piercing?

So you don’t know what that is? It is a piercing along the front of the ear and needs two holes that must be pieced with a 14 gauge needle. It is a difficult piercing to perform as the angles have to match up with the straight bar. The ear should not have to bend to fit the industrial piercing bar. It is best to get this piercing done with an experienced piercer.

Balls at both ends of the bar unscrew and can be replaced with any other body jewellery ball with a 14 gauge thread.

What is surgical steel?

Both the 14 gauge bar and the balls are made from surgical steel 316 in this sparkling industrial bar. This means they are implant-grade surgical stainless steel. This type of steel  is probably the most common and most widely used metal for body piercings. Surgical Stainless Steels (316L) are used for bone fixation screws, body pins, bone plates, staples, amongst many other applications. We do not play or gamble with your health.

If you’re wearing SS 316L  jewellery and are having problems with irritation or a new piercing that just won’t heal, it is possible that you have a intolerance of surgical steel and might want to try titanium.
