Short jewelled navel bar is ideal for navel or belly button piercings. We sell a large range colours as well as sizes of the bar. With this product we have just included the shorter length of 8 mm. This length is great for a belly button piercing that has healed or a piercing that is more shallow. They are also great for girls that are very slim with a shallow piercing. They are also great to downsize to after a new piecing has healed
Sometimes a belly piercing can begin to grow out. This happens if the body tries to reject the piercing. It most commonly happens if the piercing is a wee bit infected or has been caught and pulled. The body can start to grow skin and push the piercing forwards. Then the piercing can become very shallow. Hence the popularity of the tiny 6mm size. The 8mm sells more commonly than the 6mm.
The 10 mm is the length we begin an initial piercing with and fits most people. The 8mm is the downsize length. Perfect once the piercing has healed for 3 months.
Ball at the top end of the bar will unscrew and can be replaced with any other body jewellery ball with a 14 gauge thread.
What is surgical steel?
Both the short jewelled navel bar and the ball are made from surgical steel 316L. This means they are implant-grade surgical stainless steel – it is probably the most common and most widely used metal for body piercings. Surgical Stainless Steels (316L) are used for bone fixation screws, body pins, bone plates, staples, amongst many other applications. We do not play or gamble with your health.
If you’re wearing SS 316L  jewellery and are having problems with irritation or a new piercing that just won’t heal, it is possible that you have a intolerance to surgical steel and might want to try titanium.
