Description

Whale Tail Ear Stretcher is handmade from coconut wood. It has a hook shape with whale tail ends. It looks like a Maori whale tail with its spiral endings.  This ear stretcher is 2 gauge which is 6 mm or 7mm which is 0 gauge.  This means it is thicker and is for a well stretched ear.

This Whale Tail Ear Stretcher is carved from real wood, which  is an organic material. Natural materials are not meant to be worn in unhealed tissue (initial piercings or new stretchers)

Natural materials are sensitive to changes in heat and humidity. Thus autoclaving, use in hot saunas or hot display cases are not recommended.

Apply oil (eg jojoba, olive, mineral or vitamin E oil) periodically and prior to use.

Natural materials can absorb oils and sweat from the skin and are often preferred as they can reduce odour.

Advice for Safe Ear stretching:

It is important to wash your hands with antibacterial soap and hot water before you begin ear stretching. To ensure your ear stretcher is clean before you begin, soak the ear stretcher in studex or alcohol for 5 minutes before inserting. It can be helpful to soak the lobe in hot water prior to stretching to increase circulation and soften and relax the tissue. We recommend that you use a lubricant  like a KY Jelly, Savlon or medical gel.  It is important to take it slowly and do it yourself, as someone else pushing the ear stretcher can not monitor your level of pain and may push too fast and hard and tear the ear.

Once you have reached the desired expansion size, the jewellery should be left for 6 weeks or until completely healed before attempting to further size up. This allows the new skin time to thicken and toughen up before continuing with the enlarging process again

Please note it can take time to get to the size of an 6mm 2 Gauge  stretch-it is best to do this slowly and gradually increase the size, starting with 1.5 mm and working your way up.
