Great for expressing what you are all about.    It is 14 gauge and 10 mm in length, which is the standard size for belly piercings. It is recommended to pierce with a 10 mm bar, so this item is suitable for an initial piercing as well. A couple of the items are 8mm in length which is ideal once the piercing has healed and there is no longer any swelling.

Ball at the top end of the bar unscrews and can be replaced with any other body jewellery ball with a 14 gauge thread.

What is surgical steel?

Both the Belly Button Body Jewellery bar 14 gauge stem and the ball are made from surgical steel 316L. This mean they are implant-grade surgical stainless steel – it is probably the most common and most widely used metal for body piercings. Surgical Stainless Steels (316L) are used for bone fixation screws, body pins, bone plates, staples, amongst many other applications. We do not play or gamble with your health.

If you’re wearing surgical steel  jewellery and are having problems with irritation or a new piercing that just won’t heal, it is possible that you have a intolerance of surgical steel and might want to try titanium.
