Square Jewelled Belly Bar features a most gorgeous centre jewel. The colours of these cubic zirconia are different to the usual and they are also multi faceted and super sparkling. It was difficult to do justice to the jewel, with my simple photography. There are not many pieces of these items and I can’t get them again. It is 14 gauge and 10mm in length which is the standard size for belly piercings. The stem section that goes into the body is made from surgical steel but the square setting holding the jewel is made from sterling silver 92.5. This makes it a wee bit more valuable than the cheaper metals body jewellery attachments are usually made of. This helps to prevent allergies or reactions to lesser metals.
Ball at the top end of the bar unscrews and can be replaced with any other body jewellery ball with a 14 gauge thread.
Surgical steel meaning
Both the Square Jewelled Belly Bar is 14 gauge stem and its top ball are made from surgical steel 316L. This mean they are implant-grade surgical stainless steel – it is probably the most common and most widely used metal for body piercings. Surgical Stainless Steels (316L) are used for bone fixation screws, body pins, bone plates, staples, amongst many other applications. We do not play or gamble with your health.
If you’re wearing SS 316L jewellery and are having problems with irritation or a new piercing that just won’t heal, it is possible that you have a intolerance of surgical steel and might want to try titanium.
Sterling silver meaning
The Square Jewelled Belly Bar bottom section is made from sterling silver and features a 92.5 stamp, this means it is 92.5% fine silver with no more than 7.5% of copper or other metals. This formula is internationally accepted and it gives sterling silver the hardness and the tolerance to work with. Anything higher than 92.5 would be too soft and tarnish too quickly. When you buy sterling silver from us we can guarantee it is just that!
To preserve the shine on your silver avoid contact with ammonia, alcohol, fingernail polish remover or turpentine. ALWAYS remove sterling silver jewellery while in natural hot pools.
